Gratitude: Appreciate the moments

Gratitude

What am I grateful for today? I had been on a whirlwind of a ride. The word gratitude to me used to mean being happy with something I wanted and then got. Through my journey, the thing that has transformed for me the most is my perspective on life. It’s not about getting something.  It is about appreciating, truly appreciating, what has been right in front of you.

It’s the feeling of freedom from a racing mind. It’s the confidence to always do the right thing. It’s the special moments of seeing and sharing a smile or a look with the people you love.

I am grateful for the strength and determination toward the vow I have made: to be the absolute best I can be, not only for me but for those most special to me.

Gratitude brings an awareness that every moment is a moment you can’t get back.  It is the key to peace. Life is not always smooth. Through gratitude, we are encompassed with the resilience and emotional stability to rise above and recognize our blessings.

Through my own journey, there were a few angels who helped me in ways that words cannot describe. I am grateful for them every day, and I will continue to be. When the roads seemed dark, they provided a light. Are there any light keepers on your journey?

Gratitude is also about reciprocity and altruism. When we express it, we give and receive at the same time. Gratitude strengthens our relationships, brings balance to our families, and builds compassion in our work. It reminds us that supporting others on their journey is just as important as walking our own.

So I encourage you all to practice gratitude on a daily basis. It keeps us grounded, keeps us humble, and strengthens our soul.

Ask yourself:

  • What are three things you are grateful for today?

  • How has gratitude changed the way you face challenges?

  • Who in your life needs to hear your gratitude today?

Every day, remember gratitude doesn’t change what we have, but it changes how we see what we have.

Today, I choose gratitude. I am thankful for my life, my growth, my loved ones, and the opportunity to be better every day.

Stay grateful. Stay real.
