Integrity — The Layer We Earn and Protect
You’ve heard me talk about integrity before.
At first, it was about rebuilding it…
Keeping my word.
Being accountable.
Doing what I said I would do.
That was the foundation.
But integrity doesn’t stop there.
It evolves.
It’s not just about doing the right thing when it’s convenient.
It becomes the way you live. The way you think. The way you respond.
Integrity grounds everything in your life. It anchors you.
And when you live this way, you’re protected—not just today, but tomorrow.
It shows up in patience.
In responding instead of reacting.
In calm, in presence, in how you handle negativity without letting it control you.
These were the things we lost in addiction…
and the exact things we rebuild through sobriety.
Because sobriety isn’t just about not drinking or using.
It’s about protecting the life you’re building.
And integrity is what protects it.
You are accountable to others, yes… but more importantly, to yourself.
And you hold that responsibility with honor.
That’s the shift.
Before, maybe your word didn’t carry weight.
Maybe people questioned you.
Maybe you questioned yourself.
But now?
If you say you’ll do something…you do it.
If you can’t…you don’t commit.
That’s integrity.
That’s boundaries.
That’s self-respect.
And over time, something powerful happens…
You become someone who is trusted.
Relied upon.
Respected.
Not because you’re trying to prove anything
but because you live it.
Start small. Protect it. Build it.
Because what you’re really protecting…
is your sobriety, your peace, and the life you fought to get back.
With integrity and trust, my friends,
Mike
